Do you want to inject some creativity into maths lessons?

We have developed a fun and creative way to help motivate children in maths and at the same time build confidence in dance. By doing this you hit two of your national curriculum targets, maths and PE, which is an added bonus!

Please take a look the Euronews feature about Dance Equation:

How can our Maths Programme help your students?

  • They get the opportunity to watch a fun and exciting performance
  • Take part in creative lessons inline with PE and Maths Curriculum
  • They see that maths can be fun and retain what they have learnt
  • Ideal for kinaesthetic learners who learn by 'doing'

How it works...

STEP 1 Watch show

The children start by watching a live show put on by a team of professional dancers. The maths curriculum will be brought to life through movement, music and voice.

STEP 2 Taster workshop

After the performance, different groups of children will take part in a introductory dance workshop based on mathematical ideas from the show.

STEP 3 Weekly workshops

The children you choose to target will then receive a block of weekly workshops for 4-6 weeks.

The children could celebrate the things that they have learnt with a performance for parents or other class groups. We also offer after school workshops for the children, staff training, parent-child workshops and resources.

This is a testimonial we received from Tennyson Road Infant School 'The children really enjoyed the day, they were mesmerised by the performance. We thought the dancers really interacted well with the children and held their interest throughout. The performance was great for all the year groups.'

For your Staff

We have created a series of lesson ideas and can carry out staff training. We will leave them with a resource pack, which includes a DVD and CD. They can be confident that everything is in line with the National Curriculum.

This is some feedback we had from the teachers at Pictor Special School 'The CPD session was just right for our staff. We've certainly got lots of ideas for dance lessons for our children. Back in class the children love the number shapes with their bodies and are always looking for shapes in the playground.'

For parents and grandparents

Many schools have asked us to hold an extra workshop at the end of the programme, which allows the children to perform for their parents and grandparents. This is an ideal opportunity to showcase how your school adds creative learning into the curriculum and the families learn fun ways they can support learning at home.
